Young Medical, a European specialist in the design and delivery of modular healthcare facilities, has been acquired by Q-bital Healthcare Solutions, a leader in the mobile healthcare market. The acquisition, which was completed in January this year, has enabled the company to enhance their temporary solutions offer to incorporate both mobile and modular elements, meaning almost any combination of theatre, clinical and ward space is possible.

Q-bital has over two decades of experience in providing additional clinical capacity to replace or supplement existing healthcare facilities and entered the Australian market in 2019. The company can provide a variety of sophisticated mobile solutions ranging from fully integrated operating rooms to endoscopy suites and sterilisation facilities. Its solutions can be deployed to maintain healthcare services during refurbishment, service reconfiguration, emergency situations such as natural disasters, or to alleviate long waiting lists.

Young Medical, based in the Netherlands, are experienced in providing modular medical facility solutions, both temporary and permanent, that create a modern and safe environment for patients. With the addition of these capabilities, Q-bital can now offer additional flexibility and a wider range of clinical infrastructure solutions, including for projects where larger scale or semi-permanent healthcare facilities are required.

As hospital and facility directors’ requirements increase in scale and complexity, there is growing demand for fast, flexible solutions, which can be tailored according to each customer’s needs. Q-bital can now offer a truly holistic approach to the healthcare facilities market and are able to quickly deliver bespoke solutions that can easily be adapted to meet changing demands in functionality or capacity.

Peter Spryszynski, Country Manager for Q-bital Healthcare Solutions in Australia, said about the acquisition:

“This is amazing news. Having this ability in-house allows us to offer Australian healthcare providers an enhanced, more tailored solution in more situations. Mobile and modular units can be combined to create a seamless solution of almost any configuration, to suit each hospital’s specific requirements.”

The benefits of utilising mobile and modular healthcare facilities are widely known. Perhaps the most important benefit is that these flexible solutions can be deployed very rapidly – a temporary operating theatre can be set up in a day, and commissioned within a week. They can also be easily modified as requirements change over time, whether the need is for increased capacity, a change of use, upgraded technology and equipment or even providing capacity at a site with no pre-existing facility, since the units can relatively easily be relocated.
