Having originally been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 10th Annual Australian Healthcare Week is going ahead in 2021. The event will take place on 17-18 March at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

For the past decade, Australian Healthcare Week has been a place where the entire healthcare community can come together to learn, collaborate and share ideas on how to enhance the future of healthcare.

Although it will be less crowded than in previous years with international travel restricted, the largest healthcare event in Australasia will feature over 100 industry leader speakers, and more than 150 exhibitors.

The central theme for this year’s event is continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation. In the face of changing and challenging conditions, agility and collaboration have never been more important, in combination with a focus on strengthening and future proofing services, hospitals and the workforce for the longer term.

There will be three industry specific conferences, each with a wide variety of speakers and exhibitors. The 10th Australian Healthcare Week sees the return of four popular free-to-attend on floor events: Nursing and Midwifery, Women in Leadership, Start Ups and Healthcare Workforce. Two new events are also introduced; Patient Experience and GPs and Primary Healthcare.

Much effort has gone into making Australian Healthcare Week as Covid-safe as possible. At an event of this size, a number of precautions must be taken in order to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19. In accordance with NSW Health requirements, masks will be mandatory at all times when inside the venue. Strict capacity regulations and social distancing guidelines will also be followed, and additional safety and hygiene measures will be introduced.

A mandatory QR code check-in will be required before entering the venue, so that if an attendee is suspected of having Covid-19, extensive contact tracing can take place, and arrivals will be staggered. More information about this year’s Covid Safety Plan can be found on the website.
